Seattle Slew won the Triple Crown in 1977, and to this day is the only undefeated winner. Slew also is the only TC winner to defeat another TC winner, beating Affirmed twice in 1978. Slew passed away on the 25th anniversary of his TC win on May 2, 2002.

In early 2002, UT approached Slew's owners Karen and Mickey Taylor about developing a tribute site for Slew. The Flash-based site turned into an award winning showcase rich in content and design related to Slew. Features included:

- Section dedicated to Slew: his background story, pedigree, facts, timeline, and personality.

- Showcase for all his races, records, and news articles covering his career.

- Remembering Slew: a showcase of exclusive photos and quotes from those who loved him most.

- The Triple Crown: an educational section showcasing Slew's Triple Crown wins, but also providing a history of the TC and list of Champions and First Two Leg Winners.

- The Sport: another educational section focused on telling the history of thoroughbred racing and the three foundation sires.

- Online Store.

- Development of a matching HTML-based website.
