Marquette Basketball debuted new Jordan Brand uniforms this season, and Team UT carried that design direction through to their social graphics creating a consistent branding showcase.
This season marksĀ the program’s 100th Anniversary, and to helpĀ celebrate the event MUBB debuted new Jordan Brand uniforms – their first change since the 08-09 season. So in concepting their social media graphics package for this season, we definitely wanted to carry through many of those elements.
Elements of their new Jordan uniforms* that we’ve integrated for social:
- Jersey Stripes – as a tribute to the 1971 Bumble uniforms that were banned by the NCAA the uniforms include faint horizontal stripes; and we’ve integrated that into our background and in some cases the font.
- MU Monogram – the shorts feature the updated MU monogram created in 05-06 with school’s move to the Big East; and we’ve integrated the monogram on all graphics.
- Color Scheme – the shorts feature a gold, championship blue, and navy blue tricolor block on the belt area, as a nod to the colors Marquette has worn in various formats dating back to 1974; and we’ve integrated those colors on all graphics.
- Striped Side Panels – the jersey and shorts both feature striped side panels which have been used in various ways on Marquette uniforms dating as far back as the 1940s; and we’ve integrated the side stripes on all graphics.
- Jordan Brand – MU is one of only 5 schools under the Jordan Brand; and to highlight that unique relationship the Jumpman logo is included on all graphics.
