Last week we wrote about how A-Rod should use his official site (www.ARod.com) to help deflect some of the press surrounding the recent revelation he used an illegal substance from ’01-’03. At that point the site didn’t have one mention of the story, let’s see if there’s been any update…

Surprisingly after checking the site again today, there is still no information – no Gammons interview or Yankees press conference video, no transcripts, no official statements, no FAQ, no message to Fans or kids – absolutely nothing. Like it never happened…

Since the site is done by MLB, you have to wonder if Alex has any involvement at all with this site, or if it’s just a marketing ploy by MLB. At this point you can’t really even call it Alex’s official site. What will be interesting is since MLB also does Derek Jeter’s site, will they post a statement or news link related to the story once Jeter makes an official statement. He has said he will only do it once with all the media present – sure sounds like something that would go on athlete’s official site. Here’s hoping his turns out to truly be an “Official Site”.
