Congrats to Lance on his announcement to come back to competitive cycling and go for an 8th Yellow Jersey. Cycling has been hit hard overseas and in the US (Tyler Hamilton – Floyd Landis) with drug accusations and outings, and Lance will bring it some needed exposure. We did two projects for Lance during his Yellow dominance, so we’ll definitely be watching his comeback closely.
Many (press and naysayers) will try and belittle him with more accusations, but with a planned open testing program and production crew documenting his every move, we’re looking forward to seeing Lance on the podium next July in Yellow of course and basically shoving it to anyone who thought he did it before with a shortcut.
With Roger Federer taking the US Open title yesterday making for a total of 13 GS titles, it was only a matter of time before the yahoos in the media put out columns/blogs/whatever asking who is the greatest. Fact is until someone gets 15 – Pete is and will always be The Greatest in tennis. Why even waste an entire column on the question? Federer has 13, Pete has 14 – so yea Pete is the Greatest. Federer goes and gets 14 he’ll be in the same sentence. He gets 15 he lays claim to The Greatest. Common Sense was a class that a lot people missed in school….

Much talk has been made of the The LPGA looking to put in place a policy that will require all of its players to pass an oral evaluation of their English skills by the end of 2009. Players who fail to speak the language “effectively” will be suspended until they meet the as-yet-undefined standard.
Following sports as closely as we do, we’ve always known “The Donald” isn’t Trump – it’s 19 year old tennis phenom Donald Young. He put on a show last night under the lights in the 1st Round of the US Open vs. James Blake. While he didn’t pull it out in the end, this guy has major upside and he’s got that flair to his game that gives him the potential to be a star on tour.
It would be something to see Brad hook up with Donald and put him through the riggers of his strength program, and give him that added edge only a coach that has taken Andre and Andy to #1 in the world can.

Call us crazy, but you’d think the strategy would be to have an official site in place prior to the Games to capitalize on any buzz and medal achievements the athlete might get. Especially when you’re talking this opp only comes around every 4 years.
